Floréal

"Oh Floreal
I love your iridescent sheen
As it reflects you and reflects me"

Floréal, from the Latin word Flos meaning flowering, was the eighth month in the French Republican Calendar. Floréal was the second month of the spring quarter (mois de printemps), starting April 20th or 21st, and ending May 19th or 20th. It follows the Germinal, and precedes the Prairial. The French Republican Calendar was proposed during the French Revolution, and used by the French government from late 1793 to 1805. It was also used in Paris for 18 days in 1871.

Floréal is also a French shipping class. See Floréal class frigate.
